The competition is heating up this fall at the M.P.L.L.

Will the Mountaineers defend their title? Will another team rise to the top? Find out this fall at the Montana Premier Lacrosse League!

The 2020 Fall season of the Montana Premier Lacrosse League kicks off on Sunday in Helena, and we can't wait to get back on the field after an awesome and competitive summer season! The fall league will be even faster-paced than summer, with each HS Boys team playing 6 games over two dates to determine seeding for the Championships on October 18th in Missoula.

For those who are unable to join us in Helena to kick off the fall season, be sure to catch the livestreams - we plan to broadcast every game on Sunday!

MOUNTAINEERS TEAM PREVIEW - The reigning champs return this fall with almost their entire summer roster in tact. Coach Max Reuter had a big focus on getting the group to develop chemistry, especially offensively, and his plethora of returning talent will help with that chemistry instantly this fall. Mekhi Davis, Kaden Kinney, Taigen Hagen, and Cole Soper (aka "The Sergio Perkovic of the MPLL") are all offensive threats, but the Mountaineers also get key contributions from other players due to their team-style of play. Nico Bugni will anchor a young defense this fall, relying on good communication and patience in the clearing game. If they can keep the ball on the offensive side of the field this fall, the Mountaineers are going to be tough to beat.

DRIFTERS TEAM PREVIEW - The summer season was filled with highs and lows for the Drifters, who were the most inconsistent (and dangerous) team in the league. After a loss in the summer championship, they will be sporting a largely re-tooled roster for the fall. The loss of several key players to football has opened the door for several talented players picked up in our fall supplemental draft. The Drifters return a stout defense, led by goalkeeper Hayden Wagner and defenders Lucas Rowsey and Kahn Minster-Schlegel. Offensively Harrison Wolpoe will be leaned on for more production, along with newcomers Colby Clemons, Monte Howse, and Keelan Gaines. The Drifters will also be led by a new coach this fall, as 2X All-America attackman Matt Hutchings takes the reigns. If the Drifters can develop more consistency this fall, they should fair well with this roster.

WATCHMEN TEAM PREVIEW - The Watchmen have had a taste of the top, but are hungry to get over the hump this fall and bring home their first league championship. Asa Deskins is the player to watch offensively, as he contributed to the majority of their scoring this summer - however, the real key to success this fall for the Watchmen will be for the other player to step up a bit more. Zayden Townsend, Ethan Guge, Radd Rabinsky, and newly-added Luke Smith are all players capable of having a break out game. The Watchmen are also aided by a very tough defense, including the lefty keeper Billy Padilla, strong and smart lock-down defense from Dylan Whitten, and solid fundamental play from the other defenders.

WAVE RIDERS TEAM PREVIEW - The Wave Riders should be well-balanced this fall, which is something Coach Kylan Hallett is counting on. Cael "Ray Mysterio" McCollum is a dynamic offensive player that they can use out of the midfield or attack, and Connor Haupt is back after a breakout summer that was also hampered by injury. Jake Garcia and Karsten Squillace are both defenders who are capable of making big plays, but they will need to play smart and controlled this fall. Newcomer Brady Cardon will be tested in goal, and his play could be a key factor in the team's success. The Wave Riders also have a few players who can break out for big games; including Nik Lindskog, Colton Altimus and Rory Barkley. If this group can fine tune their roles and come together, they could make a serious push to claim the fall championship.
